The firm’s experience in the horse racing and gaming law industry includes representation of race tracks, horsemen and casinos with regard to issues arising within the racing enclosure, on the gaming floor, at off-track wagering locations and out of simulcasting and purse division matters.

Representative Experience

Represented investors acquiring a bankrupt horseracing facility and obtained, over objections, a state-issued license to conduct horseracing.
Represented an Indian tribe in obtaining compacts and licensing for gaming.
Defended various claims and injunctions sought by horsemen under the provisions of the Oklahoma Horse Racing Act and the Interstate Horse Racing Act.
Pursued relief under the APA regarding licensing and simulcast issues.
Negotiated numerous horsemen’s agreements, simulcast agreements and off track wagering agreement.
Participated on behalf of industry participants in the negotiation and drafting of the state Tribal Gaming Act.
